A new line of organic perfumes, Seveline Nature, is launched thanks to French cosmetics company Laurence Dumond. A first of its kind in the French market, the perfumes are organic, while free of potentially harmful chemicals normally found in beauty store brands.

According to Dumond, the new formulation is comprised of 100% raw organic materials, 79% of which are derived from organic farming, and it carries the Eco-cert seal of approval. The company does admit to difficulty finding and creating quality scents due to reduced access to traditional ingredients found in more popular non-organic scents, yet still manage to stay within the specified rules for organic certification.

Tapping into a new market, Dumond plans to sell the organic perfumes primarily in hypermarkets and supermarkets as opposed to smaller beauty chains. The line currently sports three introductory fragrances, Vanille Gourmande, Peche Sublime and Rose Intense. If consumer response is good, more fragrances will be added to the collection. It has not been determined if the scents will be available in the US.

Seveline Nature’s website was down as we prepared this for press. We’ll include a link when the site is live.

We'd love to hear your thoughts!
