You know how everyone’s trying to figure out which preservatives are safe? Well, that may be a dead argument soon as packaging supplier, Promens, works to tackle the problem of contamination with innovative packaging.
The company’s new containers are in response to the public’s concern over parabens and other chemical preservatives. According to Promen’s rep, the packaging will offer sterility for the life of the product, not just while on store shelves.
The company admits it’s difficult to provide sterility at the level they are seeking, but it’s not the first time they’ve taken on such a challenge.
Last year, Promens was recognized for their Irresistible pump, an invention that they claim provides complete protection from contamination. The pump, according to the company, has a sterilising filter and a barrier that stops the product from “back washing” into the bottle after it’s been dispensed.
Promens is also the brand that created luxury eco and recyclable cosmetic jars, which were made with less materials, but just as beautiful as other high end jars.
We don’t know specific details about what the packaging is made from or other questions that will surely come up. But, we’re excited about the direction this is taking and the possibilities.
Do you think American beauty companies will consider this? Do you think the increased cost over paraben preserved cosmetics is worth it? What’s your take on this?
