Just for Fun…

For some of us, a pair of snake skin stilettos or leopard print lingerie helps us express our latent wild girl side. But others would rather express their wild side in a more in-your-face way.

Thanks to a company called Violent Lips, you can wear purple cheetahs, hot pink snake skins or  black & white zebra stripes on your lips. Not for the wall flower, these patterned lip designs are catching on quickly with the 20-something club crowd. No surprise there. But will this trend make its way beyond that small demographic? Will moms sport blazing red leopard printed lips to Junior’s soccer games? Hmmm. We’ll see.

Perhaps some women are too demure for animal prints. The company also makes tattoos in candy cane stripes, polka dots, fishnets and checkered patterns. Okay, those aren’t exactly soft spoken, either. I’m thinking I won’t be seeing a lot of these in Central Pennsylvania. Philly may take the plunge. New York and Miami definitely will. Las Vegas? Not a doubt in my mind.

Being the health nut that I am, my main concern is the ingredients. What’s in the tattoos? How long do they last? And how safe are they? According to the website, the tattoo lasts 4-8 hours, is safe for ages 3 and up and is FDA approved. Removing a tattoo simply requires oil and a textured cloth.

I’d still like to see a list of ingredients, but that’s just me.

For those of you who are stalking this new look, you can order from Violent Lips website or visit their Lipstick Lounge inside the Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas. The cost is $14.95 for three applications.

Will you be trying the new lip tattoos?

We'd love to hear your thoughts!
