Psolarea Corylifolia (babchi)

A company called Unigen claims to have created a natural product that fights acne. Bakutrol™, a topical solution, uses extract from Psolarea Corylifolia (babchi), an Ayurvedic plant, to reduce the inflammatory components and bacterial properties associated with acne. Unigen claims this new product is an effective and safe way to fight acne without the common side affects associated with mainstream acne treatments, such as skin irritation and dryness.

Clinical studies with the extract showed that it reduces inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne lesions.  As a bonus, the extract also reduced scarring and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).

Bakutrol™ will most likely be sold over the counter as an active ingredient in creams, gels, lotions and masks. This is good news for the estimated 17 million individuals who suffer from acne or similar skin conditions.
