Gluten Free Beauty

While companies are scrambling to get a foot in the door with the mineral makeup craze, Kristen Campbell, the creator of Gluten Free Beauty, is taking it a step further: Mineral makeup that is also gluten free. As someone who loves someone who is gluten intolerant, I understand the food limitations put on individuals whose systems can’t process the proteins in wheat (and sometimes barley and rye). There are also people who are allergic to wheat and wheat products.
In the past I’ve only thought of these problems as food-related issues; which is silly. I always say, “What you put on your skin should be as healthy as what you put in your body.” So why wouldn’t women with wheat intolerance want a wheat (gluten) free makeup? Some of you may be saying, “There’s wheat in my makeup?” I thought the same thing when I got the press kit from Gluten Free Beauty. I wondered if all of this was marketing hype.
But after checking several mainstream lines, I found wheat-based ingredients to be pretty high on the labeling. I was surprised. I haven’t had the time to research why it’s in there, but I’ll let you know what I find out. But back to Gluten Free Beauty…
Although a small company (at the moment), Gluten Free Beauty, is leading the way with innovative thinking. It only makes sense that gluten free beauty products would hit the market now. As restaurants and cookbooks are springing up with gluten free recipes, and medical websites are devoting quality discussions to celiac disease, more of us are becoming aware of the growing issues with gluten.
Gluten Free Beauty has sheer, lightweight foundations that combine jojoba oil, antioxidant rich Grape Seed Oil, Vitamin C and Rosehip Seed Oil – all amazing for nourishing the skin naturally. Gluten Free Beauty also has a rice based loose face powder. I’ve been using their Facial Moisture Serum, an oil based super moisturizer, for the past week and it’s divine. It uses a bevy of great antioxidants and nutrients (Sea Kelp Extract!) that keep the skin from over and under producing oil, so your skin is more balanced. And you’ll experience less breakouts. Each batch is made the day it’s shipped, so you’re never getting product that’s sat on a shelf for months.
With a list of new color products set to launch soon, I think Gluten Free Beauty is going to take the market by storm.
