For many brides, the final weeks leading up to their wedding are filled with binge eating, last minute flight arrangements, family bickering and overall mayhem.
Most of my bridal clients are completely fatigued weeks before they make it down the aisle. When I remind them to take time to pamper themselves, even in the midst of chaos, they think I’ve lost my mind.
But extra self care during a stressful time (like wedding planning) is vital – for your body, your skin and your overall emotional health. There’s nothing like a hot stone massage to melt away muscle aches; Reiki to silence the mental noise created by the ever present to-do list. Or a salt scrub to reveal baby soft skin.
Trust me, your wedding planning won’t unravel because you take two hours to yourself. Find a local spa, make an appointment and don’t tell anyone. Escape into aromatherapy, reflexology or acupressure. But be sure you’re in the moment, not in your head putting final touches on the seating arrangements. When you step out into the world again, you’ll have relaxed muscles, glowing skin and a clear mind.
You owe it to yourself.
