Beautiful eye shadows to ring in spring

Aida wearing Priia Cosmetics

Green is the color of spring – not just in gardens, but on eye lids this season. Green eye shadow is to eyes what coral gloss is to lips. So we decided to show you the real world way to wear green. Sometimes (well, most times) runway beauty looks don’t translate well “on the street”.

Not so with green eye shadow. And another bonus? It looks amazing on brown eyes.

Check out our two models wearing green in very different shades and ways, but both beautifully.

On Aida, I chose Sea Turtle satin mineral eye shadow for her lid color and Lucky Clover for her crease. Both shades ($7.50 each) are by Priia Cosmetics.I finished it off with a double coat of black mascara.

Elivi wearing Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques

Elivi (right) is wearing Lauren Brooke Cosmetique’s Deep Emerald matte mineral eye shadow on the lid with Diamonds sparkle shadow as a highlighter under the brow and in the inner corners of her eye. Notice the soft blush color and the light coral lips? Perfect combination for spring.

When you try greens, don’t be afraid to experiment with various shades and textures. Want more greens? I also love Neptune by Sweet Libertine or Deep Abyss by Eve Organics.

    Hi Veronica,

Eve Organics makes matte mineral eye primers in various shades – http://www.eveorganics.net/SearchResults.asp

You can also use a matte face powder applied with a thick eye shadow brush. Hope this helps!

    Hi Todra,

What primer/base would you recommend using with mineral eyeshadows? I am afraid that most are filled with chemicals!

    Thanks!

OneArmGirl, yes! Just choose a green that's darker than your eye color and line with a bronze eyeliner for more drama. Or apply a bronze eye shadow along the corners of the eye and in the crease, keeping the green just on the lower eye lid.

Question: Can someone with green eyes wear green shadow?

Jen, thanks for visiting. Sea Turtle is a really pretty color. I love that it works on so many different skin tones.

I love love love sea turtle by PRIIA!! It is a beautiful tone and has just the right amount of sparkle.

We'd love to hear your thoughts!
